ESTATE PLANNING

Planning for the future is something that we tend to put off until the last possible minute. When it comes to your children, your estate, and your health, it is very important to take a few minutes to make sure these affairs are in order. I handle a wide variety of estate matters, including: (1) the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives; (2) probate; and (3) probate litigation. If you do not have a will or your circumstances have changed and you need to revise a previous will, call me for a free consultation. We can discuss your circumstances, and talk about the steps necessary to ensure that your family is protected. If you are leaving on a trip and need the will drafted quickly, Dan can work quickly to see that your needs are met.

ESTATE PLANNING DOCUMENTS

Durable Power of Attorney

A durable power of attorney is a document that appoints somebody else to act on your behalf. A durable power of attorney permits somebody to carry on your financial affairs, and to make healthcare decisions on your behalf. A power of attorney becomes effective immediately, or upon incapacitation. It is important to have this document in place in order to ensure that somebody is acting in your best interest if you become incapacitated.
