ABOUT DAN



Born and raised in Ballard, Dan Fiorito is a fourth generation native of Seattle. He is a graduate of the Seattle University School of Law (magna cum laude) and Seattle University’s Albers School of Business. Prior to entering law school, Dan worked for the Boeing Company.

Dan is an accomplished litigator. Upon graduation from law school, Dan accepted an invitation to join the Order of Barristers, a prestigious community of attorneys committed to excellence in oral and written advocacy. Dan served on the Executive Committee of the Moot Court Board, and participated on the Jessup International Moot Court Team. While in law school, Dan worked as an appellate clerk for the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office. He successfully litigated several appeals before the Court of Appeals. He received numerous academic awards while in law school, including Dean’s List Honors, the CALI Excellence For the Future Award for Federal Income Tax, and academic scholarships.

After graduation, Dan worked as deputy prosecutor for the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office. He tried numerous DUI jury trials. As a prosecutor, Dan litigated against some of the best DUI trial attorneys in the area. Dan spent two years learning the intricate laws of DUI. Not only did he try cases, he sat in the prosecutor’s chair and negotiated cases with hundreds of attorneys. He has extensive knowledge regarding pretrial motions and negotiations. Furthermore, Dan has received extensive training with regard to DUI cases and the Datamaster breath test machine. He knows how to evaluate, manage, and try a DUI. Dan is a proponent of preparing every case for trial. Dan believes that his preparedness and trial skills are two assets that help optimize the outcome for his clients.

In addition to having worked in criminal litigation, Dan has extensive experience with civil litigation and personal injury law. After working for the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Dan entered private practice in Seattle and defended physicians and medical institutions against medical negligence lawsuits. He understands personal injury law, and the need for professional and active counsel in personal injury cases. With his combined knowledge of personal injury law, and his litigation experience, Dan works very hard to advocate on behalf of injured persons and to defend their rights against insurance companies.

Dan also enjoys working with his clients with regard to their estate planning. He counsels individuals on several estate planning issues, including testamentary unified credit trusts, wills, and powers of attorney. In addition to maintaining his law practice, Dan is a volunteer attorney with the King County Housing Justice Project and is active with Eat Local Now, a group advocating the benefits of eating locally grown food. When Dan is not serving his clients, he enjoys fishing, boating, skiing, and spending time with his family. Dan resides in Ballard.
